In 2022, just nine months after launching Bring It To, we had the honour of winning a Creative Industry Award—a recognition that symbolised more than just a win. It was a testament to the hard work, resilience, and innovation that fuels everything we do. This award, celebrated for recognising brilliance, inclusion, and innovation within the dance industry, represents the highest level of achievement in our field, highlighting the talent, dedication, and vision that go into our work every day.
The Creative Industry Awards shine a light on leaders across marketing, design, film, fashion, and beyond, celebrating not only established talent but also emerging voices poised to reshape the future of the creative industry. To have been recognised alongside such inspiring talent and in such a short time was both humbling and empowering. It affirmed the impact of our mission and our commitment to fostering a space where creativity and inclusion flourish.
Why This Win Matters to Bring It To
Winning a Creative Industry Award so early on provided our team with a powerful sense of validation. Our goal has always been to build a bridge across diverse communities, creating empowering connections that go beyond dance and creative expression. This award recognised our unique approach and the dedication we put into every project—from fostering a sense of belonging in our weekly classes to producing immersive, transformative performances.
Reflecting on the journey, Director Natalie shared, “To be honest, we never expected to win. Latoya and I put our blood, sweat, and tears into building this company for the community. We took on extra jobs to fund our dream and the dreams of others, and although it’s so early on, I will forever be grateful to God, the dance community, and our family and friends for believing in our vision and supporting what was missing within Birmingham. Winning this award made it clear that we’re heading in the right direction, and we won’t stop. We’ll continue to make change and have an impact across the Midlands.”
